On Wednesday Term 2 stages 1, 2, and 3 were invited to see a show called the JollyBops. Everyone was excited when they heard the news. So we waited and waited until the time came to watch the show.

There was an original man named scientist and a funny looking robot named Rusty the Robot.

First, they showed how to light up a tissue with out burning yourself, they also showed us how to light up a stick and put it on a balloon. When they saw the balloon pop everyone jumped it was hilarious.

Some of the students got to go up and help do the didgeridoo.

My favourite part was when the scientist and Rusty the Robot did the fire balloon. I was amazed and I hope they will come again with more exciting stuff!!

Interview:

NN: Dr Ballard Robert can you describe the horrific incident of the titanic that night?

Dr. BR: It was horrible, we weren’t aware of what had happened first, but we felt a big shift of the titanic ship, and everybody swerved to the side, falling on to each other and everybody was panicking. 

NN: Dr Jean Louis Michael, what was your reaction at first when the large titanic ship moved?

Dr. JLM: Well! You see, at first I thought it was just a mal function with the ship, but then I realized, after hearing a potter, yelling out, that “we’ve hit an iceberg clear a deck”. Oh how frighting everybody was that night on April the 14th 1912.

NN: Dr Jean Louis Michael, can you recall approximately how many people were on board of the Titanic Ship?

Dr. JLM: Yes! I clearly had a list of all passengers and crew, in case someone needed medical treatment, as I remembered there were 1,343 people on board and 885 crew members which totalled 2,228 people all up. 

NN: “Oh dear!” that’s a lot of people, so how many people survived in the titanic disaster that night and could you please explain why Dr Ballard Robert?   

Dr. BR: “I sure can.” It was reported about 705 people survived, because there weren’t enough life boats on board, the ship held only 1,178 safety life boats.

NN: What caused the titanic to sink and how long did it take before it went down and where did the Titanic sink?

Dr. BR: Well! The ship collided with a massive iceberg. The compartments of the ship were damaged, water took on the ship, and it took about 3 hours for the ship to sink.

Dr. JLM: The titanic sank in the Atlantic Ocean about 2:45am on the morning of April 15, 1912.

Hannah, who turned 15 last week, heard about the program from her friends & auditioned when she was in year 6. Now in year 9 at Picnic Point High School, she hopes to continue with TAP dancing until year 12.

Her interests are to tap dance, singing and dancing, Hannah also plays netball for the East Hills Bullets. “Netball is probably the biggest thing I do”. 

Although her schedules seem full. Hannah takes it all in her stride. “Its not too bad people think it would also be too hard, but it doesn’t interfere in my school,” Hannah said.

Her biggest performance to date was at George’s Hall on Australia Day. The Easter show was one of the funniest places to perform”, she said.

 “A big part of why it was so much fun was because I metal these new people during the dances,” she said.

There once lived a lion named Simper. He was playing with his friends and all of a sudden the lion fell down and he was eating a sticky lolly. All the stickiness went on the lion. When he fell down all the orangey coloured grass got stuck on him. All his friends came down to try to take off all the grass but it didn’t come off.

Then the zebra came up with a idea. He said “Why don’t we get a rope and pull”. ‘Yeh’, said the giraffe so they pulled and nothing came out. So then giraffe had an idea!! He said, ‘I know, the lion needs orangey colour hair”, and they all went ‘YEH’! So they all helped him up and all cheered for GIRAFFE!!!!  AND THAT’S HOW THE LION GOT IT MANE .

 The story took place in the city of Beurite- Lebanon.

 This story happened on the 26th of May 2008. In the city of Doha, Qatar of Bahrain. Then followed through to the Parliament.

 It’s about Lebanon’s complex power sharing system to control Christian and Shiite population. The decision will be made to make up 930 member cabinet seats including 16 cabinet seats reserved for the government. (3 seats nominated by general Suleiman.)

The United Nations Security Council. The demand is supported by Hezbollah’s Lebanese opponents. The general Suleiman profile soared nationally.

 The story happened because an agreement and agreement of a presidential election and must take place. Also that a new parliament leader is needed to divide power and control in Lebanon.

      Interesting facts:                

 1.     These tremors and shakes, what is caused by earthquakes, underneath the sea. Then a series of large waves that spread thousands of kilometres over several hours, moving through the ocean away from the earthquake’s epicentre or the middle rapture of the plate. This creates the beginning of a Tsunami and journey of Tsunami is on its way moving in force of waves to an open large wave. 

2.     The shifting of the ocean floor underneath the sea causes a giant wave called a Tsunami. This is not a normal wave of the sea, it is more powerful energy wave that stretches out in a band of water from the sea floor, coming towards the surface of the island.

 3.     A person may know if a Tsunami is heading forward or coming. When the fish flops with force and the boats are standard in different parts of the sea, with a thunder and a deafening sounds like a roar noise, the Tsunami moves up like a moving mountain of the ocean sea. That comes crushing into shore or coastal land, with an unimaginal force. That is when a Tsunami has hit land because of the disaster it has caused. The death’s human, the damages to culture and land. 

4.     These huge rocks or tectonic plates (flat rock) move very slowly and rub together. These rocks meet an fault underneath the earth’s plates an earthquake occur then the movement forces waves of energy that comes together a form of a wave moving or heading towards the earth’s surface. 

Firstly we all had to take our chairs out.  It was very exciting when we all had  to go and stand on the black boxes. Lilly,Momtahina and Sokeina won a big basket of chocolates.
